CWG 2022: Sathiyan Gnanasekaran wins bronze in Table Tennis

New Delhi, Aug 8: Top Indian paddler G Sathiyan won a bronze medal on Monday in the men’s singles table tennis competition at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Paul Drinkhall of England was defeated by Sathiyan, who ultimately prevailed 4-3.

At the Commonwealth Games on Saturday, he had advanced to the men’s singles semifinals. Sam Walker of England stretched Sathiyan during his 4-2 (11-5 11-7 11-5 8-11 10-12 11-9) victory.

Earlier in the day, Indian badminton players Lakshya Sen and PV Sindhu won gold for the country.

The final for the men’s doubles badminton team of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy is currently underway as well. The gold medal game between the men’s hockey team and Australia will take place in the evening. Achanta Sharath Kamal will compete in the men’s singles final of table tennis while pursuing the pinnacle of success.
