New Delhi, June 14: As Cyclone Biparjoy made its way towards the Gujarat coast, heavy rain and strong winds were experienced in several areas of the Saurashtra-Kutch region. In preparation for the cyclone’s anticipated landfall close to Jakhau port in Kutch district, the authorities have already relocated 50,000 residents of Gujarat’s coastal regions to temporary shelters.
In the meantime, Rajnath Singh, the defence minister, spoke with the heads of the three services on Wednesday and reviewed the military’s preparations for dealing with the effects of cyclone “Biparjoy.”
“Spoke to all three Service Chiefs and reviewed the preparedness of the Armed Forces for the landfall of cyclone ‘Biparjoy’. The Armed Forces are ready to provide every possible assistance to civil authorities in tackling any situation or contingency due to the cyclone,” Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said.
