Dhanbad, Oct 28: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sandip Singh has directed deployment of NDRF team at Chhath Ghat of all prominent ponds and rivers in district during first Argya of festival on Sunday evening and second Argya on Monday morning.
The Deputy Commissioner along with Town Commissioner Satyendra Kumar, SDM Prem Kumar Tiwary and senior officers of district administration on Friday assessed the arrangement of prominent ponds in city Rajendra Sarovar of Bekarbandh, Raja Talab in Jharia, River side in Katras where devotees in massive large numbers appeared both the days for celebrating the festival.
The Chhath devotees in Dhanbad celebrate the festival in Pumpu Talab of Railway, Khokhan Talab at JC Mallick Road, Rani Talab Dhaiya, Rajendra Sarovar Bekarbandh, Damodar river side, Barakar river, Katri River Khudia river and other water bodies.
The deputy commissioner besides deployment of NDRF team at main ponds and rivers, also directed the concerned authorities for making proper arrangement of light, repairing of approach path for Ghat, and medical facility.
“Deploy rescue team with proper life jacket and ensure light at exit and entry points of all Chhath Ghat and restore other facilities devotees require during the festival at Ghat,” said the Deputy Commissioner.
