Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to address Parliament today on IAF chopper crash

New Delhi, Dec 9: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will make a statement in both houses of the parliament today on the IAF chopper crash near Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, in which Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others lost their lives.

The Defence minister will give a statement in Rajya Sabha at 11.30 am and in Lok Sabha at 12.15 am.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting on Wednesday evening. In the CCS meeting, all members observed two minutes of silence and paid tributes to all those who lost their lives in the chopper crash in Tamil Nadu.

The meeting was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
