New Delhi, Dec 2: The air quality in the national capital continues to remain in the ‘very poor’ category on Thursday, according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR). In other states of the National Capital Region (NCR), the AQI crossed 400 (severe category).

The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 312 on Thursday morning. SAFAR has issued an advisory to avoid outdoor physical activity and prolonged exertion in view of the poor air quality. However, the air quality is likely to improve from Friday onwards due to better wind speed.

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Monday held a review meeting with concernd departments regarding air pollution and said that all construction activities would remain suspended in the nation Capital till further orders. The ban on the entry of trucks, barring those engaged in essential services, has been extended till November 30.

However, the Delhi government reopened schools on Monday after they were closed due to high air pollution levels.
