New Delhi: A 52-year-old businessman, Sunil Jain, was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants in the Farsh Bazar area of Shahdara district on Saturday morning. The incident occurred as Jain was returning home from a morning walk at the Yamuna Sports Complex.

According to police reports, the attackers fired seven to eight rounds before fleeing the scene. Jain, a resident of Krishna Nagar and a utensils trader, succumbed to his injuries. His family stated that he had no known rivalries.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shahdara, confirmed that a crime team had reached the spot and investigations were underway. The suspects are still at large.

The incident has heightened concerns as it follows a series of similar crimes in Delhi. Last month, two individuals were killed and another injured in a shooting in the same area. Additionally, members of the Bambiha Gang previously targeted a businessman’s residence in Rani Bagh, firing multiple rounds and leaving behind a threatening note.
