New Delhi, Jan 27: Actress Jacqueline Fernandez, who was under the radar of the ED in connection with her alleged links with conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, has got the court’s permission to travel to the UAE from January 27 to 30.

The actress approached the Patiala House court, seeking its permission before attending the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) in Abu Dhabi. She submitted her application to Delhi high court on Wednesday seeking permission to travel abroad.

Jacqueline Fernandez was accused in a Rs 200-crore money laundering case and has been allowed to travel to Dubai after her lawyer Advocate Prashant Patil, argued before the court that she was an Oscar nominee and added that the actor was contractually committed to be present at the PepsiCo conference in Dubai and that she might be sued if she skips it.

Granting permission to the actor to travel abroad for professional commitments, Additional Sessions Judge Shailender Malikher’s personal liberty can’t be cut down to adversely affect her career.

The judge also said “The high court, considering all aspects, has already once granted permission to travel abroad, upheld order of the trial court ED’s uneasiness that she would flee can be addressed on similar terms as already taken care of. Certain conditions can be imposed.”

The court directed her to submit a Rs 50 lakh Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR) along with a surety of Rs 50 lakh and details of her itinerary, stay, and return date. Also, she has been told to inform the investigation agency after returning to the country.

In return, the actress in her petition stated that she is a Sri Lankan national living in India since 2009 and holds a good name in the Bollywood industry as she has been invited to attend events, press conferences, rehearsals and participation in the IIFA.
