New Delhi, July 20: In a sexual harassment case brought by the nation’s top female wrestlers, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court on Thursday granted bail to BJP MP and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Special MP MLA Judge Harjeet Singh Jaspal issued the ruling.
Brij Bhushan cannot leave the country without authorization, the court further said. Additionally, he is prohibited from threatening the people who brought the lawsuit against him in any way.
The court also granted bail to former WFI additional secretary Vinod Tomar. He managed the day-to-day operations of the wrestling organisation while collaborating closely with the WFI president.
Following a meeting with the wrestlers who were protesting, the Union Sports Ministry suspended him in January of this year.
