New Delhi, Nov 14: In connection with the Delhi Excise Policy Case, the Enforcement Directorate has detained Hyderabad-based businessman Abhishek Boinpally and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) communications coordinator Vijay Nair.
On Sunday night, both were brought to jail by the federal investigation team.
The CBI had already detained Vijay Nair and Abhishek Boinpally in connection with the same investigation. They are currently being held by the courts in Tihar prison.
On Monday at 4 PM, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) case two defendants were scheduled to have their bail application heard. But before the bail hearing, the ED had them arrested. Now, they will be presented in court by ED for custody in the alleged liquor fraud later that day.

After L-G Vinai Kumar Saxena suggested a CBI investigation into the alleged irregularities in the implementation of Delhi’s Excise Policy 2021–2022, the liquor scheme came under scrutiny.
The Arvind Kejriwal administration repealed the Delhi Excise Policy, which had been in effect since November 17 of last year, in July of this year after a CBI investigation into its implementation. The ED is looking into the alleged scam’s financial trail.
