New Delhi, Dec 24: As many as five persons have been arrested for blackmailing Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni, informed the Delhi Police. Delhi Police also seeks four days of police custody of the accused.

According to the police, earlier an FIR was registered in New Delhi following a complaint by his staff that he received phone calls for money.

“An FIR was lodged in New Delhi district. Five persons – four from Noida and one from Delhi – have been arrested for making extortion calls,” according to Delhi Police.

Ajay Mishra Teni’s son Ashish Misra is among the 13 accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence of October 3 in which eight people, including four farmers and a local journalist, were killed. The Uttar Pradesh Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the Lakhimpur violence case, has termed the incident to be well-planned and not of negligence or callousness.
