Dumka, June 8: A team of Delhi police finally succeeded in arresting one Vishnu Kant Jha from his Bampas Town based home in Deoghar on Tuesday in connection with his alleged indulgence in hiring a contract killer having given threatening calls to Godda BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and MLA from Rajmahal Anant Ojha way back in 2018.
Separate FIRs were lodged by Dubey and Ojha at North Avenue police station in New Delhi and the town police station of Sahebganj pertaining to the threatening calls to both the BJP lawmakers and the alleged caller was later arrested from his home at Jamnagar under Rajmahal police station of Sahebganj district.
“The involvement of the banned Islamic extremist organisation the Popular Front of India (PFI) had also come to the fore in attempting to kill Dubey and Ojha for being vocal against illegal Bangladeshi settlers of Sahebganj and other adjoining parts of Santhal Pargana,” said a senior police officer who was then posted at Sahebganj.
The arrest of Vishnu Kant Jha who has filed several FIRs against Dubey and his wife in Deoghar levelling allegations of misusing his authority while purchasing a piece of valuable land in the temple town and furnishing false information before the Election Commission regarding his educational qualification.
Although the cases filed against Dubey and his wife were later quashed subsequently by the Jharkhand High Court but the name of the complainant Vishnu Kant Jha finally figured in the investigation by the Delhi police to be the main conspirator of the threatening calls to him who was absconding since then notwithstanding several attempts made by the Delhi police to arrest him.
“Vishnu Kant Jha was the puppet in the hands of the Chief Minister Hemant Soren and a few senior officials who filed several cases against me and my family on their behest during the last three years,” Dubey said adding that the investigation finally revealed Jha’s role in the threatening calls.
Dubey further claimed that the arrested Vishnu Kant Jha was accused of a rape attempt and murder cases, who owing to have been enjoying the patronage of none other than the Chief Minister Hemant Soren himself, and was provided a licence for firearms and continued evading the arrest.
This was, however, the fourth attempt of the Delhi police to arrest Vishnu Kant Jha after arriving at Deoghar when they finally succeeded.
“We simply provided strategic support to the Delhi police in arresting the accused Vishnu Kant Jha who was produced before a local court today for transit remand,” Deoghar SP Subhash Chandra Jat said.
