New Delhi: In a swift response to a viral video, Delhi Police apprehended a man dressed in a Spider-Man costume who was seen riding on the bonnet of a moving car. The incident took place on Dwarka roads and quickly garnered widespread attention on social media.

The video, which shows the costumed individual clinging to the car’s front while it was in motion, prompted immediate action from the authorities. Both the driver and the daredevil passenger faced penalties for multiple traffic violations, including dangerous driving, operating without a pollution certificate, and failing to wear seatbelts.

“Upon receiving a complaint on social media about a car seen on Dwarka roads with a person dressed as Spider-Man on its bonnet, the Delhi Traffic Police took action. The person in the Spider-Man costume was identified as Aditya, 20, residing in Najafgarh. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Gaurav Singh, 19, residing in Mahavir Enclave,” stated a police spokesperson.

The incident resulted in a potential maximum fine of Rs 26,000 for the duo, along with the possibility of imprisonment. The prompt action was highlighted in a post by news agency ANI on the microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter).

Since its upload on July 24, the post has accumulated over 36,000 views, along with numerous likes and reposts. The unusual sight also sparked a variety of comments, ranging from humorous to critical.

One user remarked, “India is the only nation where Spider-Man gets fined,” while another quipped, “Today, Spider-Man also understands India is not for beginners.” Other comments included, “Next sequel: Spider-Man Jailcoming!” and “Spider-Man failed the escape test.”

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and the consequences of reckless behavior on the roads.
