Mumbai, May 25: Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, met Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), at the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre in Mumbai on Thursday, a day after he had a meeting with Uddhav Thackeray, the head of the Shiv Sena (UBT).
He was accompanied by the Aam Aadmi Party leader and Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann. Atishi and Raghav Chadha, two additional party leaders, also met with the NCP leader.
Sharad Pawar, speaking at the press conference, said that we “must focus on bringing all non-BJP parties together”.
“There is a crisis in the country and it’s not an issue limited to Delhi. The NCP and the people of Maharashtra will support Kejriwal. We will also talk to other leaders to support Kejriwal. We must focus on bringing all non-BJP parties together,” Pawar said while extending support to the AAP.
On Tuesday night, Arvind Kejriwal arrived in Mumbai. They met Uddhav Thackeray, the president of the Shiv Sena (UBT), on Wednesday at his residence.
The gatherings are a part of the leader’s national tour, which aims to rally support for the AAP’s opposition to the ordinance being imposed by the Centre.
Following their discussion with Thackeray, CM Kejriwal stated the ordinance demonstrated the Narendra Modi administration’s lack of respect for the Supreme Court. Additionally, he said that the CBI and ED are being used by the Centre to overthrow state administrations.
