New Delhi, Nov 28: The Delhi Police crime branch has detained a woman and her son in connection with the suspected murder of a man, the dismemberment of the body, storage of the fragments in the refrigerator, and subsequent disposal of the pieces in several east Delhi neighbourhoods.
This is similar to the suspected murder of Shraddha Walkar, his live-in partner, by 28-year-old Aaftab Poonawala, who then allegedly dismembered her body into 35 pieces before throwing it in south Delhi’s Mehrauli forest.
Near June, police discovered the body parts in Pandav Nagar, but were unable to identify them because of how badly they had deteriorated. It was also investigated if the unidentified body pieces were Shraddha Walkar’s as the horrifying details of her murder case began to surface. Police have since discovered that they actually belong to Pandav Nagar resident Anjan Das.
According to the police, the accused Poonam and her son Dipak killed Das in June over an extramarital relationship. They said that the victim was first given sleeping medication and then killed. The accused allegedly broke up the victim’s body after that, placed the fragments in the refrigerator, and dispersed them throughout Pandav Nagar and the surrounding districts.

Surprising footage from the neighborhood’s CCTV cameras shows Deepak going with a bag in his hand late at night; according to the police, this was one of his journeys to dispose of the body parts. He is followed by his mother Poonam. Another video appears to show them during the day as they search for locations to dump the pieces.
