Dhanbad, Aug 23: The Education department has imposed a ban on private schools of Dhanbad holding offline examinations of classes nine to XII.
District education office (DEO) Prabla Khesh has in this regard sent a mail message to the principal of all private schools to cancel the offline examination till the education department is not given permission.

The DEO, in his message, has said that the Disaster Management department has given permission only for holding offline classes for classes nine to 12 and not conducting examinations. “I have come to know that private schools are going to hold the offline examinations. So do not conduct offline examination until the Disaster Management department gives permission,” said the DEO.

Private schools have announced different dates for the offline half-yearly examinations of classes nine to XII. Up to class 8  private schools are holding the online examinations.

The principal of a private school on Monday said that he had received a mail message from the DEO today and would follow it duly.

Official sources said that the district education department has issued the mail message to private schools on the directive of the principal secretary, School Education and Literacy department. A guardian of Dhanbad had complained about holding offline examinations by private schools. The principal secretary issued an order to the DEO of all 24 districts to stop off-line examinations with immediate effect.
