Dhanbad, July 29: The Deoghar district administration has pressed in five bike ambulances on Kanwariya Route Line for providing medical care to the devotees in crowded spots in case of an emergency.
Deoghar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manjunath Bhajantri said that the bike ambulances have been made active on two days- Sunday and Monday, when the number of devotees crosses over around 2.5 lakh. The bike ambulances make regular rounds on the ‘Kanwariya Route Line’ from Punetha to Baba Temple (around 12 km) round the clock on these two days.
Last Monday (July 25) recorded the footfall of 2.5 lakh devotees (Kanwars) who arrived to offer Gangajal to the 12th Jyotirlingam (Baba Baidyanath).
“Every Monday, a massive crowd of Kanwars appear on the Routine Line in which four-wheeler ambulances can’t enter to provide medical help in emergency cases. But bike ambulances can reach there easily for carrying the patient to the hospital,” said a senior officer of the district administration.
He further said that on general days of the month-long Shrawani Mela, proper health care facilities have already been provided to devotees (Kanwars) on the Kanwar path right from Duma (entry point of Jharkhand). But additional facility of bike ambulances has been introduced to cater to the requirement of needy devotees in emergency cases.
