New Delhi, April 17: As Moscow continues its attacks on Kyiv, Russia’s defence ministry announced on Sunday that it hit a military plant outside the Ukrainian capital.
“During the night, high-precision, air-launched missiles destroyed an ammunitions factory near the settlement of Brovary, Kyiv region,” the ministry said in a statement on Telegram, according to news agency AFP.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, “some infrastructure objects were hit,” according to Brovary Mayor Igor Sapozhko.
In Brovary, an AFP correspondent saw no signs of wreckage, smoke, or fire.
Russia has launched several assaults on military facilities in and around Kyiv in recent days.
Russia announced last month that it was evacuating soldiers from northern Ukraine, including the capital, in order to concentrate on regaining control of the eastern Donbas region.
The Russian ‘miliatry operation’ has entered in the 52nd day as it started on February 24. Attacks on Kyiv and other western cities have been increased by the Russian forces.
On Saturday, several airstrikes were recorded in Kyiv, Lviv, and Kharkiv, with Russian officials claiming they were targeting military targets in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has promised to provide accommodation to Ukrainians who have lost their homes as a result of the conflict. Internally displaced persons, those who defend the state, and those working in the public interest will all receive temporary accommodation, according to Zelenskyy.
