Mumbai: Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Thursday in a blockbuster event held at Azad Maidan. The ceremony was graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking the BJP leader’s return as Chief Minister for a third term after five years.
Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar also took oaths as Deputy Chief Ministers, cementing their roles in the new Mahayuti government.
The grand oath-taking ceremony saw prominent Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and JP Nadda, alongside several BJP leaders, on stage.
Star-Studded Event
The event was a spectacle, with Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Ranbir Kapoor adding glamour to the occasion. Industrial magnates Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani, Anant Ambani, and Kumar Mangalam Birla were also present, reflecting the event’s high profile.
Former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, accompanied by his wife Anjali Tendulkar, joined the celebrations.

Ahead of the ceremony, Fadnavis shared a heartwarming photo of his mother applying a tilak on his forehead, captioning it, “The beginning of a new season with the blessings of mother…”
Massive Attendance
The event witnessed nearly 40,000 attendees, including Chief Ministers Yogi Adityanath, Bhajanlal Sharma, Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chandrababu Naidu, and Nitish Kumar.
