Dhanbad, May 26: Councillor Manoj Sab, who had been on an indefinite fast since May 22 for unlocking Jharia- Fusbangla railway gate, withdrew his agitation on the 5th day today after the initiative of Dhanbad MP PN Singh and  Dhanbad Sadar MLA Raj Sinha.

The MP, and MLA both reached the agitation spot of the Jharia- Fusbangla railway gate and showed Manoj Sab the WhatsApp message of the Adra Rail Division Manager (DRM) to open the gate in one month. Having seen the official message, the outgoing councillor Manoj Sab withdrew his indefinite fast.

Jharia-  Fusbangla railway line falls under the Adra Rail Division of East South Railway Zone.

Jharia- Fusbangla rail gate is considered the lifeline of two major parts of Dhanbad. The gate has been closed for the last one and half years in the name of rail overbridge construction. Following closer of gate, people of both the parts have to cover five km distance of five minutes route by vehicle. As per divisional railway, the bridge had to be constructed in five months but even after one and half years, it is still closed.

When Adra Rail Division management, Dhanbad district administration Dhanbad Municipal Corporation did not take cognizance of people’s plight in the last year, finally outgoing councillor Manoj Sab sat on an indefinite fast on May 22.

Dhanbad Sadar MLA took the agitation of Manoj Sab seriously and initiated the step to fulfilling the demand. He talked with Adra Rail Division Manager (DRM)Manish Kumar, Dhanbad deputy commissioner Sandip Singh and Town Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Satyendra Kumar for starting the transporting on the road and completion of rail over the bridge.

Adra DRM pointed out that due to the water pipeline of Jharkhand Mineral Area Development Authority, the construction of rail over bridgework is closed.

Adra Division DRM  Manish  Kumar gave official assurance to Raj Sinha through WhatsApp message to Dhanbad MLA to open the road in 10 to 15 days. Them MLA Raj Sinha along with MP PN Singh again reached the spot and requested the outgoing Councillor to withdraw the agitation by showing assurance of Adra Division DRM.
