Dhanbad, June 15: The MP MLA special court today absolved BJP state president Deepak Prakash and nine other leaders in an 8-year-old case of model code of conduct violation charge.
The judicial magistrate Santoshni Murmu of Dhanbad MP MLA special court absolved all the 10 accused including BJP state president Deepak Prakash and other senior leaders from charges in lack of evidence, said senior advocate Narendra Trivedi who appeared for the defense.
During the assembly election, on December 4, 2014, Petarwar (Bokaro district) circle officer Vijay Singh Birua filed a case against Deepak Prakash and other nine senior BJP leaders for violating the model code of conduct by holding a political meeting at Petarwar Jain Dharmshala without permission.
Besides Deepak Prakash, a case was filed against BJP Gomia candidate Madhav Lal Singh, Ravi Shankar Jaiswal, Nagendra Nath Tripathi, Deonarayan Prajapati, Laxman Nayak, Sudhir Kumar Sinha, Baneswar Mahto and Shantilal Jain.
The case was transferred to Dhanbad MP MLA special court after Deepak Prakash became MP (Rajya Sabha member)
“Finally justice prevailed. The administration had slapped false charges against me and other leaders of the party,” said the BJP state president after the court verdict.
