Dhanbad Judge Uttam Anand case: Jharkhand HC seeks detailed report from CBI by Sept.16

Ranchi, Aug.31: The Jharkhand High Court today directed the CBI to submit its progress report in Judge Uttam Anand murder case by September 16.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Ravi Ranjan and Justice S.N.Prasad gave the direction while hearing the matter.

The high court during the last hearing had asked the apex investigation agency of the country regarding the law under which it can continue the probe after conviction of the accused in the court and award of punishment.

On which the CBI referred to a Kerala High Court order providing investigation after conviction. Apart from this, the investigating agency informed that the CBI is conducting its own investigation and trying to find out new evidence in the case.

Those present in the court representing the CBI included SP Vikas Kumar and Assistant Solicitor General of India Prashant Pallav.
