Dhanbad: Police have cracked the case related to the Nirsa firing incident that took place on the night of June 4. SDPO Rajat Manik Bakhla held a press conference on Friday to share the details of the investigation. The main accused, Sujit Ravidas, has been arrested and sent to jail, while three others are still absconding.

The FIR was filed by the injured victim Sagar Mallah, who named his neighbors—Sujit Ravidas, Raj Ravidas, Ram Ravidas, and Rahul Ravidas—all residents of Pithakiyari village, in connection with the attempted murder. Sujit Ravidas, identified as the prime accused, was taken into custody soon after the incident, but Raj, Ram, and Rahul Ravidas remain at large. Continuous raids are being conducted to nab them.

Fired Upon While Returning from IPL Final Viewing

According to the report, the incident occurred at around 2 AM on June 4, when Sagar Mallah was returning home after watching the IPL 2025 final at a friend’s place. Suddenly, Sujit Ravidas opened fire on him, hitting Sagar in his right leg, causing him to collapse on the spot.

Despite his injury, Sagar managed to inform his mother, who in turn alerted his father. The family rushed to the scene and took him to Nirsa Police Station, from where he was referred to SNMMCH Hospital in Dhanbad due to his critical condition.

The police cordoned off the area and detained three suspects for questioning soon after the shooting. Sujit’s arrest followed soon, but the manhunt continues for the remaining accused.
