Dhanbad, Nov 17: The Rotary Club of Sindri in collaboration with SAIL Chasnala organized a special camp at Gaushala Community Health Centre (CHC) where cataract surgery of 58 poor patients was conducted.
Famous ophthalmologists of Kolkata Dr P raven and Dr Parwez operated on the patients after two-day proper screenings.
The organizers said that a total of 130 poor people of the Sindri Township and surrounding areas had registered for operation. But after proper screening and health tests, 58 of them were found fit for the operation. The patients having high BP and sugar were held up for the next camp.
The camp started on Tuesday with screening and selection of patients.
Rotrate Club of BIT Sindri students dedicated themselves to making the camp successful by extending their service to poor patients. Ritwik Anand, Anirvan Roy, Vikash Prasad, Vivek Suman, Abhishek, Harshita Sahil and others contributed a lot in holding the camp for the poor.
The organizers said that SAIL Chasnala had held the camp under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It was the 55th free-of-cost cataract operation camp which became successful with the help of BIT Sindri Rotrate Club student members.
