New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, labeling him a “comedy king” who is struggling to maintain relevance in Indian politics. Pradhan’s remarks came after Gandhi staged a mock ‘interview’ as part of opposition protests in the Parliament complex.
“Rahul Gandhi is indulging in what he does best — stand-up comedy! His malicious claims and rants crumble under comprehensive investigation every time. He’s playing the role of a pawn, attempting to mislead despite his misinformation campaigns repeatedly failing with the people of India,” Pradhan posted on X.
Mock Interview and Opposition Protests
As part of the opposition protests, Gandhi conducted a satirical ‘interview,’ where Congress members wearing masks of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani posed as participants. Gandhi questioned the Congress member donning the Adani mask about Parliament disruptions, to which the response was, “We’ll have to ask Amit bhai… that man is missing.”
Pradhan dismissed these protests as an example of Gandhi’s futile attempts to garner public attention. “Electoral verdicts since 2014 are proof that there are no takers for his recycled propaganda. This hit job is another desperate attempt by the comedy king to remain relevant,” Pradhan added.
Kiren Rijiju Joins the Criticism
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also criticized Gandhi, referring to him as “Balak Buddhi” (childish mind). “Instead of wasting public money with this tamasha, Congress should introspect on why people don’t take them seriously,” Rijiju wrote on X, sharing photos of Gautam Adani with Congress leaders Robert Vadra, Revanth Reddy, and Ashok Gehlot.
Rijiju further accused Congress of attempting to destroy India to defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that their efforts would fail.
Ongoing Opposition Criticism
These developments come amid escalating tensions in Parliament, with opposition parties protesting alleged favoritism toward industrialist Gautam Adani and raising concerns about issues of national importance. However, the BJP has consistently dismissed these allegations as baseless attempts to divert public attention.
