Patratu, Oct.29: ‘Ganga Utsav’ is to be celebrated from November 1 to November 3 all across the country to commemorate the declaration of Ganga as the national river.

Under this programme, ‘Shramdan’ and ‘Ganga Run’ were organized in the Patratu reservoir complex by the Ramgarh district on Friday, ensuring compliance with the guidelines issued for the prevention of corona.

Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC), Nagendra Kumar Sinha, and other district and block level officials along with the public, cleaned up near the gate of Patratu Dam complex by doing Shramdaan. After this, the DDC, along with school students, joined the Ganga Run.

“All of us must contribute to keep the rivers and other water sources clean. Our life is not possible without water, yet we see that a lot of garbage is spread around the water sources. Many times people throw garbage in other water sources including rivers,” said the DDC on this occasion.
