Ranchi, April 22: Earth Day, also known as International Mother Earth Day, is an annual celebration held on April 22. The goal of the day is to raise awareness and bring people together to conserve the environment, which is changing rapidly.

The theme of Earth Day 2022 is to ‘Invest in our planet’, urging businesses to shift towards sustainable practices.
Here are some activities you may do this year to commemorate Earth Day and incorporate into your daily routines to make a difference:
- Planting trees: The most important thing we can do on Earth Day is to plant trees. Trees not only enhance the beauty of any space, but they also benefit the environment in a variety of ways, such as creating oxygen and filtering pollutants to clean the air.
- Picking up roadside trash: Picking up roadside trash is not a duty for a few, but it is something that we should all do to maintain our environment clean. Picking up trash by the road and sorting it can help keep your neighbourhood clean and prevent disease development.
- Raising Awareness: On Earth Day, hold seminars and activities to raise awareness at the school and college levels. It’s critical to enlist everyone’s help and direct them in the right direction.
- Avoid Plastic: Things made of plastic should not be used. The amount of dirt on the planet is steadily growing as a result of plastic. Plastics should be avoided because they are non-biodegradable. They take several years to degrade once they’ve been released into the environment. Plastics are polluting the environment.
