New Delhi, March 28: An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 on the Richter scale hit the Solomon Islands early Tuesday.
Taking to Twitter, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said that the earthquake occurred at 3:49 am IST and struck West North West of Honiara at a depth of 95 kilometres.
“Earthquake of Magnitude:6.0, Occurred on 28-03-2023, 03:49:20 IST, Lat: -8.62 & Long: 158.37, Depth: 95 Km, Location: 198km WNW of Honiara, Solomon Islands,” tweeted NCS.

Earlier on Monday, an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 on the Richter scale hit 25 kilometres South of the Farkhar district of Takhar province in Afghanistan.
On March 26, an earthquake of a magnitude of 4.2 struck Bikaner, Rajasthan. The earthquake was 8 km in depth and struck at roughly 2:16 am. There were no reports of injuries or fatalities.
