New Delhi, Jan 18: The Election Commission is expected to release the schedule for the upcoming assemblies in Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Tripura on Wednesday.
For this purpose, the polling panel has scheduled a news conference for 2:30 pm here.
While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rules Tripura, it is also a member of the government of Meghalaya and Nagaland.
Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Tripura’s assembly’ five-year terms are set to expire on March 12, March 15, and March 22, respectively.
Following a team led by the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar’s tour to the three northeastern states, a number of discussions were held last week.
The political parties of the three states, as well as government servants and central security officers, attended these discussions.
