ED leaves Arpita Mukherjee’s second residence with Rs 29 Cr cash, over 5 kg gold

A total of Rs 40cr found from her premises so far

New Delhi, July 28: Days after finding Rs 21 crore from Arpita Mukherjee’s first apartment, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) discovered additional Rs 28.90 crore in cash, more than 5 kg of gold, and many documents at her second apartment.

Mukherjee is a close aide to arrested Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee. Officials reported that a sizable sum of money was found from the toilet after ten hours of counting the cash.

ED officers discovered Rs 21 crore in cash from Arpita Mukherjee’s home last week. In relation to an alleged teacher recruitment fraud in West Bengal, the investigation agency searched Arpita Mukherjee’s home. The money that was recovered is thought to be the proceeds of crime from the con.

The Enforcement Directorate seized gold worth Rs. 76 lakh, Rs. 56 lakh in foreign money, and Rs. 21.90 crore in cash during the initial raid. A total of Rs 23.22 crore was seized.

Currently, the investigation agency has found cash worth Rs 20 crore (officials are currently counting the cash) and gold bars worth Rs 2 crore. Seizures have a total estimated value of Rs. 45.22 crore.
