Ranchi: A special PMLA court in Ranchi will now hear on July 8 the plea filed by Sunil Yadav, accused of laundering crores through illegal mining in Sahibganj, seeking the return of goods seized by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). During the recent hearing, the court directed the ED to submit its report before the next date.

Plea For Daily-Use Items

Yadav has moved the special court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), requesting that the household items seized by the agency be returned as they include essential daily-use goods. The petition argues that the confiscated goods, such as bedding, batteries, fans, coolers, and cupboards, are necessary for regular living.

Seizure During Absconding

Notably, the ED had conducted an attachment operation at Yadav’s residence when he was absconding. Following the seizure, Yadav was later arrested but is currently out on bail. He is now pressing for the release of the attached household articles, claiming they are not part of any illicit proceeds but personal necessities.
