Eighth edition of Jamshedpur Run-a-thon on November 5

Jamshedpur, Oct 31: Tata Steel is geared up to organise the eighth edition of the Jamshedpur Run-a-thon 2023 as the last date to register for the marquee event is November 3.

The run is scheduled on November 5 (Sunday) from 6 am onwards at JRD Tata Sports Complex.

Jyothi Yarraji, Asian Silver Medallist (100m hurdle), an international athlete besides a national record holder for 100m hurdles will grace the occasion to flag off the run.

For the registered participants, T-Shirt and BIB distribution is scheduled on November 3-4 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex between 9 am-1.30 pm and 2.30 pm-6:30 pm

Participants from around 15 states including Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Odisha & Andaman & Nicobar have registered so far.

Jamshedpur Run-a-thon has also introduced Pacers with three categories of pacer buses to help runners achieve their personal best run time as practised in major marathons and running events.

This edition of the Run will also host an expo at JRD Tata Sports Complex from November 3. Brands such as Natural Foods, Organic Health Shop, Fast&Up, Nexa (Maruti Suzuki), Ramada, Skechers among several others will be participating in the expo.

This time, Tata Steel Sports department has also offered discounts for bulk group participants.

There is a provision of 15 per cent off for groups of 20+ participants (Fit Together), while 10 per cent discount for families of four or more members (Fit Family).

There will be four categories of run:

o    2 km- Open to all (Fun Run)

o    5 km- Boys & Girls

o    7km- Men & Women

o    10km- Men & Women

While the 10-km and 7-km have an age limit of 18 years and above, the 5-km category will be open to children aged 12 to 18 years.

These three categories, competitive in nature, will have prize money attached to them while a 2-km Fun Run will be open for all.
