Washington, April 4: The Doge meme, an image of a Shiba Inu dog, replaced Twitter’s blue bird logo on Monday. Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, frequently promotes the cryptocurrency Dogecoin, which has been linked to the image.
Following the modification of Twitter’s design, Musk tweeted about it via a meme and uploaded screenshots of an earlier Twitter exchange in which a user requested that Musk purchase the social media platform before changing its logo to a “doge.”

Since Monday, Twitter has been inundated with memes referencing the new logo.
It’s interesting to note that this shift occurred just days after Musk asked a judge to throw out a 258 billion dollar lawsuit that Dogecoin investors had brought against him for allegedly using a pyramid scheme to promote Dogecoin.
According to a Market Watch article, Musk supported Dogecoin via a series of tweets in February 2021, which led to a 44% price increase for the cryptocurrency. Musk’s support had a similar impact on Monday when the Investor’s Business Daily reported that Dogecoin’s value increased by 36% as a result of Twitter changing its logo.
The now-iconic image of the dog that inspired the Doge meme was posted to Twitter on Tuesday morning by Dogecoin’s official account, along with the message “The dog behind the #Doge meme and #Dogecoin cryptocurrency is named Kabosu and she still lives with her owner Atsuko Sato @kabosumama in Sakura, Japan. Notably, Kabosu was a rescue dog and became a meme after Atsuko uploaded photos of Kabosu, including the one below, on her blog in 2010.
