Encounter on Chhattisgarh-Odisha border: SOG kills 3 including 2 women Naxalites

Jagdalpur, Oct 12: There has been an encounter between the police and Naxalites on the Chhattisgarh-Odisha border on Tuesday morning. In this encounter, the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Odisha has killed 3 Naxalites. Two women and one man are among the killed Naxalites. The SOG said that the identity of the three slain Maoists is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, one jawan has also been shot in this encounter. He has been referred to Visakhapatnam by helicopter. Here, the jawans have also recovered one INSAS and one SLR rifle from the spot.

According to the information, the Malkangiri Police of Odisha had received information that a large number of Naxalites are present in the Tulsi hill area on the border of Chhattisgarh and Odisha. On the basis of this information, the force was dispatched on Tuesday morning. It is being said that the force entered the Tulsi hill area from all sides. Seeing the soldiers coming, the Naxalites started firing. In retaliation, the force has killed 3 Naxalites. At present, the encounter is closed, but the search of the area around the spot is going on.
