Ramgarh, Nov.20: A two and half month old girl was allegedly strangled to death at Sarlakhurd village under Gola police station area of Ramgarh district for 2 lakh dowry.
Mother of the deceased girl, Poonam Kumari, has lodged a complaint with Gola police station against her husband and mother-in-law and has accused them of killing her daughter. Police have detained the accused father and grandmother of the deceased for interrogation.
Gola police station in-charge Siddhant said,” Two people, including the father of the deceased girl, have been detained and are being interrogated. Further investigation of the matter is going on.”
“I went away after feeding the baby. When I came back, I saw that my daughter was being killed by pressing her neck. I shouted at both of them and picked my daughter up. I tried to feed her milk once again but she did not wake up. I called the village doctor but by then she was dead,” said the wailing mother.
Poonam Kumari informed that she was having a love affair for the last 3 years with Neeraj Kumar Mahato (accused) of the village. Both of them got married on 9th August 2021 under the pressure of the society. At that time of their wedding, the dowry was given by her father according to his ability. But after the wedding, she was harassed for a dowry of two lakh rupees.
