Female SI murder case: Accused taken on further remand by Ranchi police, probe continues

Ranchi, July 22: The accused of Sub Inspector Sandhya Topno was taken into further remand by the Ranchi police on Friday for further investigation.

Yesterday, Ranchi police conducted multiple raids to arrest the second accused involved in the case. Meanwhile, the arrested accused had given some names. Police are doing a further investigation.

“We’re taking the accused on further remand to investigate him. He has taken the names of two more persons, we are verifying their involvement so that we can reach the person who was doing cattle smuggling. Further, probe on,” said SP Ranchi.

Earlier, the police have detained the driver of the pick van which mowed down 2018-batch Jharkhand police sub inspector Sandhya Topno.

He has identified himself as is Nizar Khan, a resident of Sikidri in Ranchi saying another one sitting with him was Sagir Khan, a resident of Tapkara in Khunti.

Notably, a pickup van driver fatally crushed a female sub-inspector named Sandhya Topno when she was conducting a vehicle inspection in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Early on Wednesday morning, the tragedy happened in the Tupudana area. During the vehicle check, a pickup van rammed into the 2018 batch inspector at around 3 AM.
