New Delhi, July 19: The renowned director Mani Ratnam has been admitted into a hospital in Chennai, according to news source PTI. According to reports, the 66-year-old filmmaker had feverish symptoms and needed to be brought to a hospital in Chennai. More information regarding the veteran filmmaker’s condition is awaited.
On the work front, Mani Ratnam anticipates the release of the historical drama Ponniyin Selvan, whose recent teaser release has garnered media attention. Lyca Productions is the production company for the movie. The popular historical novel Ponniyin Selvan by Kalki Krishnamurthy served as the basis for the period drama (The Son Of Ponni).
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is among the ensemble cast of the movie, which also features Vikram, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi, and Aishwarya Lekshmi. This year’s September 30 release date for the movie has been set.
