New Delhi, Jan 2: Five accused in the death of a woman who was dragged by a car for a few kilometres through the city were sent to three days of Delhi Police on Monday. The incident happened on Sunday.

Following a collision between the scooter she was riding and the car early on Sunday morning, the woman (age 23), who was travelling home, was dragged by the vehicle for around four kilometres from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala in Delhi.

The Delhi Police located the car and began an investigation after the event. Five persons were detained when they were able to find the car’s owner. Deepak Khanna (age 26), Amit Khanna (age 25), Krishan (age 27), Mithun (age 26), and Manoj Mittal (27) have been named as the arrested suspects.

The police had sought five-day custody of the accused and the court on Monday granted three-day custody of the five men.

The vehicle can be seen doing a U-turn in the city’s Kanjhawala neighbourhood in recent CCTV footage. Under the car, the woman’s body may be seen. The car is seen turning around and heading in the direction of Tosi village in the 3:34 a.m. video.
