Five SDPI men in custody for BJP leader’s murder in Kerala

Alappuzha, Dec 22: Five workers of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) have been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of Bharatiya Janata Party OBC Monarch State Secretary Renjith Sreenivasan (40) in Alappuzha.

BJP’s OBC Morcha state secretary Renjith Sreenivasan was killed at his house by unidentified people on Sunday morning. In a separate incident Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) state secretary K S Shan (38) was allegedly attacked and murdered on Saturday night.

Police also found four bikes which they suspect were used by the assailants. The vehicles were recovered from Mannancherry and Alappuzha. The arrest of those taken into custody is likely to be recorded any time.
Meanwhile, Minister Saji Cherian said the conspiracy angle in both murders will be probed.
Earlier, two RSS activists have been arrested by the police on Monday in connection with the murder of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) state secretary KS Shan. The suspects, Prasad and Kuttan were allegedly involved in the planning and conspiracy of Shaan’s murder, informed SP G Jayadev.
