Ranchi, Nov 9: The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries on Wednesday welcomed the state government’s decision to regularise both residential and commercial unauthorised construction that was requested by the chamber for the benefit of common people and ease in doing business.
“On the request of the Jharkhand Chamber, the word ‘residential’ has been removed from the notification issued on 21/10/2022 by the Urban Development Department, Government of Jharkhand to regularize the unauthorized construction done in the urban areas of the state,” the FJCCI said in a statement.
In the notification issued by the department, it has been clarified that now all types of buildings constructed so far in the state will be regularised, it added.
FJCCI President Kishor Mantri expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji and Urban Development Department Secretary Vinay Choubey for providing this relief to lakhs of people and businesses.
On October 20, the Chamber, along with MP Mahua Maji, met and requested the CM to solve the problem prevailing in the state for several years. Soren had assured that not a single building would be demolished.
A high level committee was constituted by the Urban Development Department. However, in the earlier notification only the residential buildings were mentioned to be regularized, on which the Jharkhand Chamber had again requested the Departmental Secretary and Mahua Maji to regularize all types of structures.
