Ranchi, Mar 15: Former MP and Bihar minister RK Rana, who is a convict in the fodder scam case, has been admitted to the emergency ward of RIMS after difficulty in breathing and weakness.

RK Rana has been brought to RIMS after his health deteriorated in jail. Rana is undergoing treatment in the presence of security personnel of Birsa Munda Central Jail. It is worth noting that on February 21, the CBI court has also sentenced RK Rana along with Lalu Prasad to 5 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 60 lakhs.

Ravindra Kumar Rana was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha. He represented the Khagaria constituency of Bihar and is a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal.

He is serving the sentence in the fodder scam. An appeal has been filed in the High Court through his lawyer Prabhat Kumar against the order of the CBI Court. Along with this, RK Rana has also sought bail from the court.

If doctors treating at RIMS are to be believed, then there may be a problem in RK Rana’s heart. Therefore, his blood sample has been taken for the troponin test which is a type of protein found in the heart muscle. At present, the doctors are waiting for the report. Afterwards, the process of further treatment will be adopted.
