Former UP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav’s daughter-in-law joins BJP

New Delhi, Jan 19: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav’s daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav joined BJP on Wednesday, in the presence of deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and BJP State president Swatantra Dev Singhin a major blow to the Samajwadi Party ahead of the UP elections.

Notably, Haryana BJP in-charge Arun Yadav on Tuesday tweeted Aparna Yadav will be joining the BJP at 10am on Wednesday.

“I am very thankful to BJP. The nation always comes first for me. I admire PM Modi’s work,” Aparna Yadav said after joining BJP.

According to an ANI report, Aparna Yadav has sought a ticket from the Lucknow Cantt assembly seat. Notably, Aparna is the wife of Prateek Yadav, son of Mulayam Singh’s second wife Sadhana Gupta. In 2017, Aparna contested from Lucknow Cantt assembly seat and lost to BJP’s Rita Bahuguna Joshi.
