New Delhi, June 14: Four people have been detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with a bribery case, including a Senior Auditor and Data Entry Operator who worked at the CDA (Navy) Accounts Office in Visakhapatnam.

Senior Auditor Telikicherla Ramana Kumar and Data Entry Operator Besetti D Danti Nokeswara Rao have been named as the individuals who have been arrested. Both of them worked at the CDA (Navy) Area Accounts Office in Visakhapatnam.

Representatives of the contractor, Subhash Mishra and Contractor Bhanupratap Yadav were also arrested.

On the basis of the claims of bribery, a case has been filed against the accused. According to the allegations, the Senior Auditor demanded the contractor to pay Rs 26,000 in order to clear his pending bills of Rs 26 lakh. Furthermore, it was claimed that the stated contractor sent Rs 26,000 via his representative to the accused.

The CBI set up a trap, and the Senior Auditor and Data Entry Operator were both captured red-handed while taking a Rs 26,000 bribe. Additionally, the contractor’s representative who paid the bribe was also detained.

A number of incriminating documents were found when searches were carried out at the accused’s home.

All four of the apprehended suspects appeared before the Principal Special Judge for CBI cases in Visakhapatnam and were remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.
