Four Jharkhand players invited for national camp of junior Indian women’s hockey team

Ranchi, Aug 27: A national camp will be organized for the junior Indian women’s hockey team from August 31 to September 28 at the Sai Center in Bangalore. Four women players from Jharkhand have also been invited to this national camp.

This includes the names of Deepika Soreng, Mahima Tete, Ropani Kumari and Kajal Bada. All the players are residents of Simdega district. Deepika Soreng and Kajal Bada belong to Kargagudi village of Kersai block while Mahima Tete is a resident of Barkichhapar village in Sadar block and Ropani Kumari is a resident of Jambahar in Thathaitangar block.

Deepika Soreng, Mahima Tete and Ropani Kumari have returned from Germany this week, where they represented the junior Indian women’s hockey team in the Four Nation Under-21 Women’s Hockey Competition.

Hockey India General Secretary cum Hockey Jharkhand President Bholanath Singh, Sports Director Sushant Gaurav (IAS), Hockey Jharkhand General Secretary Vijay Shankar Singh along with all the officials of Hockey Jharkhand and Sports Department congratulated all the players on being selected for the national camp.
