Daltonganj, Dec 23: Garhwa district has made a big comeback in the COVID-19 vaccination. The district, which had finished with a meager vaccination of only 3,515 eligible on December 3, has now had 12,000 plus vaccinations a day for three consecutive days beginning December 20.

An official data available with the lagatar24.com shows that Garhwa completed 12, 261 vaccinations on December 22, 12,957 on December 21 and 12,780 on December 20.

“Earlier we had only 87 vaccination teams, right now 200 vaccination teams are out on this job. We are trying hard to cross 13,000 vaccinations a day,” said civil surgeon in-charge Garhwa Dr Kamlesh Kumar.

Three Tika express cars roll down the street every day catching up the unvaccinated eligibles.

Asked about the availability of ANMs in Garhwa, Dr Kamlesh said: “We have drafted graduated nursing students of Gulab School of Nursing Untari, Arogyam in Nawada More and Vananchal dental college Garhwa to replenish our fleet of the vaccination teams.”
