Daltonganj, Oct 25: The CPI Maoists had their ‘mini secretariat’ on the Burha Pahar. It came to the fore when the security forces recovered pens, paper, books etc from the area. Garhwa SP Anjani Kumar Jha said, “Security forces find 29 pens there on the Burha Pahar all belonging to the Maoists but we too don’t comprehend as to what they would be making of it.”
On the question of whether the Maoists lived there with families and growing children, the SP said “Their families and children could use to visit them. Sometimes their families lived with the locals on the foothills. But a permanent family living on the Burha Pahar was not possible for the Maoists.”
However, sources close to the Maoists said a few of them did live there with family and children for a long but they were always tuned in to the ground for the footsteps of the security forces.
Security forces recovered notebooks and around a dozen pieces of literature of the Maoists along with stationery items which suggest that they were not alien in communicating with the world.
Apart from this, a good stock of ayurvedic medicines was also found including Giloy, the most talked about immunity booster in the Covid pandemic. Hing Vastak, Aswagandha, Anwala, and Mahasudarshan tablets were also found on the Pahar. The recovery of Triphala, an ayurvedic preparation of three herbs meant for strengthening the stomach and useful in arthritis, showed the Maoists must be hating constipation like other free citizens on the plains.
The Garhwa SP said, “The recovery of the ayurvedic medicines does not mean the Maoists were not having allopathy medicines. Security forces recovered invitro rapid diagnostic test kit to tablets to settle liver.”
However, among the list of the recoveries which the SP so painstakingly prepared have ever found any antidepressant medicines with the Maoists. Sources said Maoists used to remain upbeat often seldom slipping into any morose.
A source very close to the Maoists said, “Their training is such where mawkish sentiments have no entry and as such their mental make up is tougher and this lifestyle disease like depression etc is not in their dictionary of living.”
