New Delhi, Sept 12: The Goa government is transferring the investigation into the alleged murder of BJP leader Sonali Phogat to the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI), Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Monday.

Sonali Phogat’s family met with Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday to express their dissatisfaction with the Goa police inquiry and request that it be looked at by a federal agency.

“Following the people’s demand, especially that of her daughter, for CBI probe we’re handing it over to CBI today. I’m writing to Home Minister for hand over. We trust our Police and they’re doing good investigation but it’s people’s demand,” said Goa CM Pramod Sawant.
