Panaji, March 10: The trends from ECI show that BJP will form the government once again in the country’s smallest state Goa. Chief minister Pramod Sawant wins Sanquelim seat.
The ruling BJP in Goa appears to be on track for a hat trick, but the Congress is still fighting hard. Notably, the Congress-GFP, BJP, TMC-MGP have fielded 40 candidates each. In total 39 candidates are in the fray on an AAP ticket.
“The credit for this win goes to the party workers…BJP will form the govt in Goa,” said Goa CM Pramod Sawant.
The party leaders will meet Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai and stake claim to form the government today only. The BJP has also claimed support from three independent candidates.
“BJP will form the government in Goa; We will take MGP and independent candidates with us,” CM added.
