New Delhi, July 19: Due to a problem with the engines, GoAir flights were diverted to Delhi and Srinagar in two different instances today. Due to EGT over-limit in the engine, GoAir A320 aircraft VT-WGA flight G8-386 from Mumbai to Leh was diverted to Delhi, and GoAir A320 aircraft VT-WJG flight G8-6202 from Srinagar to Delhi was returned to Srinagar.

An EIU (Engine Interface Unit) issue in engine number 2 caused the first flight to be diverted. Both flights won’t take off until the regulator gives the all-clear, according to the officials. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is investigating the matter.

Today GoAir A320 aircraft VT-WGA flight G8-386 (Mumbai-Leh) diverted to Delhi due to Engine No.2 EIU (Engine Interface Unit) fault. Another flight Go Air A320 aircraft VT-WJG flight G8-6202 (Srinagar-Delhi) is involved in air turnback to Srinagar due to Eng#2 EGT overlimit: DGCA

As a fault was discovered in engine number 2 on Tuesday, Go First’s aircraft from Mumbai to Leh was diverted to Delhi, according to DGCA officials. The Srinagar-Delhi Go First flight made a similar return after the aircraft’s second engine developed a problem mid-flight.

In the past month, there have been numerous instances of technical failure in aircraft operated by Indian carriers. To maintain safety oversight, Jyotiraditya Scindia, the aviation minister, has met numerous times over the past three days with representatives from airlines, his ministry, and the DGCA.
