Ranchi, Sept 4: A day after another murder of tribal girl in Jharkhand’s Dumka, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey said the state is home to a “grooming gang” that targets Dalit and tribal women. He also charged the Hemant Soren-led government for apathy in the face of escalating crimes against women.

“’Grooming gangs’ are active in Jharkhand, in which Bangladeshi Muslim boys target and exploit underage Dalit and tribal girls. Meanwhile, the Soren government is fast asleep,” he said in a tweet in Hindi.

The BJP politician made the claim following the rape and murder of a 14-year-old tribal girl in Dumka. Locals discovered her dead hanging from a tree on Friday morning, according to authorities.

Armaan Ansari, the accused, was taken into custody. The police are awaiting the autopsy results to determine whether she was murdered first and then hanged from a tree in order to fabricate a suicide.
