Gujarat: Heeraben Modi laid to rest in Gandhinagar, PM Modi performs last rites

New Delhi, Dec 30: Mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Heeraben Modi was laid to rest in Gandhinagar on Friday. PM Modi, who reached Gujarat early this morning, was seen performing the last rites.

PM Modi, who was scheduled to launch the developmental projects in West Bengal will join the events through video conferencing.

Heeraben Modi resided in Raysan village, close to Gandhinagar, with PM Modi’s younger brother Pankaj. She died at the age of 100 on Friday morning. She breathed her last at around 3.30 am. Earlier she was admitted to U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Ahmedabad due to health issues.
